SPICY BEAN SPROUTS RAMEN TOPPING RECIPE

What are spicy bean sprouts?

Spicy bean sprouts are a quick and flavorful ramen topping made with lightly boiled bean sprouts tossed in a savory gochujang-based seasoning. Sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, sugar, and ground sesame seeds add layers of savory, spicy, and nutty flavor while keeping the bean sprouts crisp and light.

Ready in just a few minutes, this simple topping can be added to hot ramen or cold noodle dishes. It is naturally vegan, making it an easy option for both plant-based and traditional ramen.

WHY ADD SPICY BEAN SPROUTS TO YOUR RAMEN?

Spicy bean sprouts add a crisp texture and a savory, spicy kick to ramen without making the bowl feel heavy. Their fresh crunch creates a satisfying contrast with soft ramen noodles, while gochujang, sesame oil, garlic, and sesame add extra depth and aroma.

They pair especially well with miso ramen, where the fresh texture and gentle heat balance the richness of the soup. They also work well with chilled noodle dishes such as hiyashi chuka.

HOW TO USE SPICY BEAN SPROUTS

Ramen Topping:
Add spicy bean sprouts directly to a finished bowl of ramen for extra crunch, spice, and savory flavor. They pair particularly well with miso-based ramen and other rich ramen styles.

Cold Noodles:
Serve them with chilled noodle dishes such as hiyashi chuka for a crisp, flavorful topping that complements cold noodles and fresh vegetables.

Side Dish:
Spicy bean sprouts can also be served on their own as a simple side dish alongside a Japanese-style meal.
